Toynbee has a bit of sci-fi, horror, fantasy — there are rockets, time travel, monsters, ghosts, serial killers — but there are also non-genre stories with no elements of the supernatural or the fantastical, including one that is just a straight up romance, and some of these rank amongst his best.

The Toynbee Convector has a lot of stories I’ve seen in other collections– in fact, despite never having read this before, I recognized most of the stories– but I’d still recommend giving it a read for the title story and a couple other greats personal favorite? Jul 07, R.
