Pretty good stories, almost entirely realistic fiction which I will admit is simply not my favorite Bradbury style. He also claimed to have then destroyed the machine deliberately to prevent anyone else doing the same. Some of these short stories were so strange.

Bradbury has a talent for getting in and out as quickly as possible. There is much better material in his collection toynbde there.

Initially, people were skeptical of the Traveler’s claims, but they are unable to explain or disprove the authenticity of the records brought from the future. So, approximately 22 percent tooynbee the stories here totnbee decent vintage, good stuffs.

Some great underrated short stories, but not something that would be my top priority rec for Bradbury. A few of these ended up as part of Green Shadows, White Whale. Bradbury just isn’t for me.

Toynbee has a bit of sci-fi, horror, fantasy — there are rockets, time travel, monsters, ghosts, serial killers — but there are also non-genre stories with no elements of the supernatural or the fantastical, including one that is just a straight up romance, and some of these rank amongst his best.

The Toynbee Convector has a lot of stories I’ve seen in other collections– in fact, despite never having read this before, I recognized most of the stories– but I’d still recommend giving it a read for the title story and a couple other greats personal favorite? Jul 07, R.
